In order to meet societal demand regarding farm animals welfare, the European regulation evolution on stopping beak trimming and the development of alternative farming methods, Desialis supports poultry farms by offering ingestible environmental enrichments based on alfalfa products.

Alfalfa input as a preventative measure limits beak trimming issues :

• Contribute to enrich the environment since rearing period.
• Provide additional fibers to the layers diet.

A product adapted to farmer’s needs.

• High temperature treatment during dehydration process killing germs
• Salmonella quality control on batches during production
• Bales individual packaging protecting it against later contamination
• Pressing under very high density ensuring a high durability over time

Efficiency improvment of afalfa products

Thanks to a specific refining process of alfalfa fibers, bales pressing under very high density is improved to increase bales cohesion and durability over time.
• The duration of use in farm is more than doubled.

Fibers refining process transform them from 3/5 cm length to a thinner length of less than 1cm.
This length reduction leads to a better digestive efficiency resulting in :
• A better zootechnical efficiency
• A significative difference in egg production : +3,3 eggs for 100 layers
